Quality and environmental system
Inex provides quality services, and supplies customers with safe products that fulfil the statutory requirements. In terms of the environment, the starting point is compliance with current environmental statutes, regulations and instructions as well as utilising the best available technology and expertise. Quality and environmental impacts are managed in cooperation with products and services suppliers as well as other interest groups. Inex takes quality and environmental criteria into consideration in the selection of products and suppliers.
Inex’s corporate responsibility work is planned from the perspective of a customer-oriented value chain in the S Group’s corporate responsibility workgroup for grocery and daily non-food product retail. Inex has a representative in the group to bring all aspects of Inex’s operations to attention and to take care of communications at Inex. All Inex employees commit to following the corporate responsibility programme. Selected focus areas for the programme are 1) product safety, 2) developing a model for assessing the environmental impacts of products, 3) constant evaluation of the product range and sourcing criteria, 4) customer communications and co-operation with interest groups, 5) increasing material efficiency and energy efficiency, and 6) managing wastage and reducing the amount of waste.
Inex’s self-supervision plan is approved by the authorities, and it is used to ensure that products are safe and that they conform to the law. Self-supervision support systems help guarantee suitability to conditions and staff expertise in the handling of products, in a distribution chain that runs all the way from the supplier to the shop. Inex’s quality assurance analyses product samples in its own and, if necessary, in external laboratories. In case of possible defects and safety shortcomings in products, a recall plan has been prepared with all partners.
